World History – Grades 9th–12th – Kristy Spake (offered 2026-2027)

Come travel through time with us!  When students really understand the timeline of world history, they build a mental filing cabinet. Every new book—whether it’s a novel about ancient Rome or a textbook on the Industrial Revolution—will simply slide into the right drawer. Suddenly, names, dates, wars, and inventions won’t float around loose in their memory. These facts will have a place to land.  Knowing this information makes reading and learning about history feel less like homework and more like unlocking a puzzle. “History” stops being a list of facts and starts becoming the backdrop on which everything else lives. Some work will be done in class, while additional work may be completed at home. Homework will be assigned in Google Classroom. All questions should be texted directly to the teacher and not in Google Classroom.  No textbook is required, the teacher will supply all the information needed for this class.

Supplies

  • 3” or 5”  3-Ring Binder (3-ring hole punch in the binder is helpful)

  • 30 dividers

  • College-Ruled or Wide Ruled Loose-Leaf Filler Paper

  • Pencils and/or Pens

  • Pencil Pouch for binder

  • Yellow Highlighter
